- How are listings ranked?
Listings are ranked according to the type of HitListing as follows:
-
Alphabetical Order
HitListings are not displayed alphabetically, which we believe avoids potential and unwarranted discrimination
against some businesses.
-
Free HitListings
These have the lowest ranking. Where there are a number of businesses in the same location displayed in the same
search result, the paid HitListings will be displayed ahead of free HitListings.
Where a search result in the same location displays only free HitListings, they will be displayed in order
of registration with the earliest registration displayed first. Click here for more information about
free HitListings.
-
Paid HitListings.
These have priority ranking. Where there are a number of businesses in the same location displayed in the same
search result, the paid HitListings will be displayed ahead of free HitListings.
Where a search result in the same location displays only paid HitListings, they will be displayed in order
of registration with the earliest registration displayed first. Click here for more information about
paid HitListings.

What is a service range?
A businesses' service range is the approximate radial distance from its location that it is prepared to
service customers. As an example, a nursery selling plants across Australia would benefit from a national
service range because its paid HitListing would be shown for all nursery enquiries across Australia regardless
of location. However, a local hamburger shop would only want a local service range covering his/her suburb
and surrounding suburbs. An Australia wide service range for a local business would attract unwanted and
unserviceable enquiries from beyond a practical service range. Also the cost of a local suburb service
range is more economical than an Australia-wide paid HitListing.
-
Local suburb service range
This service range limited to the local suburb. It is suited to businesses who only wish to service
the local area. As an example, a local hamburger shop needs only services the local suburb. The
free HitListing service range is limited the local suburb service
range.
-
Regional service range
This service range extends from the local suburb up to an approximate radial distance of 100km from a
local suburb. It is suited to businesses that service wider areas beyond their local suburb. As an example,
a builder who services southeast Queensland may choose this service range to capture more customer leads.
The basic paid HitListing service range is variable up to an approximate
200km radius.
-
State-wide service range
This service range covers individual states an territories. It is suited to businesses that service
state-wide customers. As an example, an architect in Sydney may service clients across New South Wales and
would choose a state-wide service range as an added option to a
basic paid HitListing . If you are interested in finding out more about a state-wide service range

-
Australia-wide service range
This service range covers all states an territories. It is suited to businesses that sell products or
services across Australia. As an example, a nursery in Darwin sells seedlings to customers across Australia
and would benefit from an Australia-wide service range as an added option to a
basic paid HitListing . If you are interested in finding out more about an Australia-wide service range
